AIM HIGH Initiative: Pioneering Energy Solutions
The AIM HIGH initiative, spearheaded by Birmingham City Council and RESCO, was a groundbreaking project designed to test and implement innovative low carbon technologies in Birmingham’s housing sector. By focusing on traditional low-rise homes, the initiative aimed to improve energy efficiency through the deployment of at least seven advanced measures across 348 properties. These technologies, which include A-rated boilers and weather compensating controls installed by Renewable Heating Installations Limited in collaboration with Worcester Bosch, are being meticulously monitored to assess their performance in real-world conditions. This large-scale trial not only demonstrates the practical benefits of these technologies but also addresses supply-chain challenges, paving the way for local businesses to seize opportunities in the burgeoning housing refurbishment market.
